Giftee

It sounds like “gifty” and in fact the project is inspired by the action of giving gifts.

What
Giftee is a registered trademark but most of all it’s a philosophy deriving from a simple idea: for each product you buy, you “give” an exact copy to someone who needs it.

The Meaning
The logo and the name recall the symbolic union concept expressed by the brand, where the two words GIFT and TEE are blended together and there’s no precise boundary between them. It’s like establishing a connection in both directions and developing a solidarity tie, sharing through products.
Giftee is a fair trade project aimed at giving to charity in a tangible way.
What’s the difference between Giftee and the other relevant and noble charity initiatives?
Giftee is not handing over (partially or totally) the proceeds to the needy people. Giftee gives the customers the chance to present someone underprivileged with the same product they’re buying for themselves, creating a sort of virtual tie between them and someone needy anywhere in the world.


Where
The distribution strategy includes the typical channels of trade, shops requesting to join the initiative and also the website www.giftee.it.
The website will allow the visitors to buy the products as well as to discover the promoted events and find out who the gifts receivers are.

How
After advance sales to the main channels the exact equivalent (in terms of quality and quantity) products will be delivered to various structures in the poor areas of the world, thanks to the collaboration of authorized ONLUS organizations already supporting the local populations’ development.
In order to strengthen such virtual and virtuous ties, all products (the ones to be sold and the ones to be given as gifts) are going to be numbered, thus creating a sort of connection between couples taking part in a global and abstract treasure hunt.
One day maybe you’ll find someone with the same number you own, your virtual twin.

When
The initiative will start with the t-shirts for kids, because children are the preferred receivers of our gifts and they represent our hopes and future.
Four characters were invented, witty subjects that are symbols of the four corners of the world and remind us of the underprivileged children’s needs.
